Application Fee
- Technical Assistant / Scientific Assistant: Non-refundable fee of Rs. 250/-. Initially, all candidates pay Rs. 750/- as processing fee. Refund of Rs. 500/- (Full Rs. 750/- for women/SC/ST/PwBD/ESM) issued post-exam appearance.
- Technician-B / Draughtsman-B / Cook-A: Non-refundable fee of Rs. 100/-. Initially all candidates pay Rs. 500/- as processing fee. Refund of Rs. 400/- (Full Rs. 500/- for exempted tiers) issued post-exam.
- Payment Method: Bharatkosh e-Payment gateway (Net Banking, UPI, Domestic Debit Cards).
Age Limit Details (As on 20/07/2026)
- Baseline Age Window Limit : Minimum 18 Years to Maximum 35 Years.
- SC / ST Category Candidates : Relaxable up to 05 Years extra where posts are reserved.

- 05 years experience as a cook in a well-established hotel or canteen. Note: Experience certificates from individuals are rejected.
Selection Process & Examination Pattern
- Initial Screening Phase: Applications will undergo preliminary screening based on academic performance metrics provided by candidates. Only screened-in applicants receive CBT call alerts.
- Written / CBT Test Parameters: For Post Codes 001 to 009, the test contains 80 MCQs over 1.5 hours (+1 for correct, -0.33 for incorrect). For Cook-A, it features 60 MCQs in 1.5 hours under identical negative marking rules. Minimum pass bars are 32/80 marks for UR and 24/80 marks for reserved category candidates.
- Skill Evaluation Phase: Shortlisted candidates will face a curriculum-based Skill Test in a 1:5 ratio (minimum 10 candidates). It works on a pure Go-No-Go qualifying format evaluated out of 100 marks. (Passing standard is 50 marks for UR, 40 marks for reserved, and 60 marks for Cook posts).
- Test Venues: Written evaluations or Computer Based Tests will be deployed at Bengaluru and various cities across India, but final Skill Tests take place in Bengaluru only. Candidates can answer in Hindi or English mediums.
Important Instructions on How to File Online Applications
- Applications must be submitted strictly via the online mode portals at www.isro.gov.in or www.istrac.gov.in from 27/06/2026 to 20/07/2026. Forms once submitted cannot be edited under any circumstances.
- Documents Upload Checklist: Candidates must upload a clear color passport photo (less than 6 months old, 50-100 Kb in size) and signature image file in .jpg or .jpeg formats, along with all mandatory qualification/experience documents. Reserved tiers seeking full processing fee refunds must upload valid SC/ST/PwBD/ESM validation records.
- Open Learning Disclaimer: Candidates who completed professional qualification streams through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) networks are strictly not eligible to apply for Technical Assistant slots. Students awaiting final semester results are also restricted from applying.
