| Basic level Class 1-5 |
- Candidates must have 10+2 Intermediate/Senior Secondary (or equivalent) of minimum 50% points and must have have passed or are appearing in the final year of a 2-year diploma in primary education (BTC/D.El.Ed.), or 10+2 with minimum 45% marks immediately 2-year diploma in elementary education (according to NCTE 2002 standards). Alternatively, candidates may have done just that 10+2 with minimum 50% marks and appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.), or 10+2 with at least 50% marks and a 2-year teaching diploma (special education). Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) And have passed or are appearing in the final year of a 2-year diploma in primary education (BTC/D.El.Ed.) are also eligible.

| Junior level Class 6-8 |
- Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and must have have passed or are appearing in the final year of a 2-year diploma in primary education (BTC/D.El.Ed.), or A Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks And passed or appearing in the final year of B.Ed. / LT / Shiksha Shastri (regular). Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree with at least 45% marks And Bed. (according to NCTE standards) are also eligible.
- Alternatively, candidates who have 10+2 Intermediate / Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with minimum 50% marks and are appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.), or A 4-year BA/B.Sc.Ed or BAEd/B.Sc.Ed program are eligible. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% marks and B.Ed. (Special education)or those with one Master’s degree with minimum 55% marks along with a 3-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. courseare also eligible.
